Feeling Colors

I was staring at my keyboard, brainstorming about what to write, when I noticed the RGB color patterns on my keyboard. I have three different sequences of colors on my keyboard and I myself particularly liked the third sequence which comprised of three colors — something close to teal, yellow, and light pink.

I asked myself that why is it only this collection of colors that I prefer?

I got to thinking about other colors, my favourite color, my friends’ favourite color, colors that are all around us. Just like every one of us is different, these colors are soo much like us, different.

We all favour different colors. A color might be my favourite and at the same time, it might be repulsive to another.

When I thought about colors, I realized that I associate almost all colors with a different feeling or sensation. Each color was categorized differently in my brain. I don’t know if everyone out there thinks the same way or not but I felt like sharing what I felt about some colors.

Here goes nothing.

Let's start with the common ones…

>RED: Feels like a model walking on a rampway, asking for attention. It’s like a sensation that wakes you up when you’re in that state of drowsiness. Something that can destroy just by looking at the victim.

>GREEN: This color feels like a person who does charity(I know it’s weird :D). They are always helpful and ready to greet anyone with a smile. This is the medic color for me. It heals just by being in the vicinity.
This color can also represent the vile feelings of lust and selfishness.

>BLUE: Seems like a cool guy wearing an oversized jacket with a boombox, ready to light up the mood. The color which inspires you to be better, to find perfection in yourself as much as this color already has.
Sometimes I also associate this color with sadness which consumes a person in times of despair.

>YELLOW: This color represents a calm place for me. A place where I can escape, sunlight pouring and the feeling of taking a nap on a hot summer day near the ocean. Feels like the feeling of happiness when you finally get to eat your favourite dish.

Some variants now…

>ORANGE: This is like that friend of yours who challenges you to do things you usually wouldn’t even think possible. This is a neutral color for me, without a specific positive or negative annotation. Just someone who can guide you to reach your limits either for the better or worse.

>PURPLE(my personal favourite): It’s that soothing feeling of being okay no matter what. Like that feeling you have when you know you have your parents standing behind to catch you if you fall. My surrounding just feels a bit more lively when this color is present. I feel like having this color closer to me at all times.

>BROWN: I will quote Bella Swan from Twilight here(pardon me if you’re a hater) “Brown is warm.” I agree with this quote. It’s like a warm blanket on a cold winter afternoon. It’s the coffee whose warmth creeps onto our cold fingers when we hold it. It’s that sigh of content.

>BLACK: This color gives me the aura of being hidden. Black is somewhere I can hide away, far from my flaws and imperfections. If I had to describe it in two words I would say ‘ no risks ’.
This color also signifies horror and the feeling of abhor. Something that is like sinking mud, which clasps onto you and suffocates you.

These were my 1 AM scribblings, I hope some uniquely amazing people relate to me on this matter of colors and don’t think of me as a weirdo( XD).
